Research in areas of open standards, communication protocols, databases and virtualization. The outcome of the R&D was a generic open standard based SCADA software framework - COPS (C-DAC Open Process Solution) framework.

• Cryptanalysis: Algorithms and high performance computing techniques - Funded by DIT (A capacity building project)
• Ubiquitous Computing – Funded by National Resource Centre

Currently the group is working in the following emerging R&D areas

• Multi Agent framework for building High Confidence Systems
• Power system Modeling and simulation
• Light weight operating system for process control
• Porting on COPS to open source framework.
