Information Security Education & Awareness Program @ C-DAC, Knowledge Park (KP), Bangalore
The Knowledge Park (KP) Centre of C-DAC, Bangalore is the 2nd of C-DAC centres to be established in 1989 and has witnessed the dawn of PARAM series of super computers. C-DAC, KP is working in cutting-edge computing technologies such as High Performance Computing, Grid Computing, Ubiquitous Computing, Heritage Computing and is also executing high end research in security systems & training.
Information Security is becoming synonymous with National Security. Considering the need and growing importance of the Information Security, Government of India has formulated and initiated the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Programme. CDAC Hyderabad is instrumental in designing the mass awareness materials under ISEA programme. The main objective of this programme is to create information security awareness amongst students, teachers, home users, and government, non-IT professionals in a planned manner. CDAC centres across the country are involved in bringing this initiative to the people. C-DAC Knowledge park Centre is participating in the ISEA cause by conducting workshops at schools & Government organizations in collaboration with Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India.
This activity under the able guidance of Dr. Sarat Chandra Babu Executive Director CDAC-KP was initiated from June 2010 accordingly the ISEA team members Mrs.Divya.M, Mr.Gokultheerthan, Mr. MuthuKumar, Mrs. Karuna Prasad, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr.Rajashekara H.G, Mr. Saju Samuel Oommen, Mr. Saravana, Mr.Sreekantha.B.A, Mr.Salman Abdul Moiz., experts in their respective domain of grid computing, system networks and e-security have volunteered to spread the awareness by conducting ISA workshops at schools & Government departments.
Workshop presentation includes cyber etiquettes, Animated short awareness films; discussion about Information Security Awareness with each student reinforces the essential Internet safety rules. Workshop details are available for preview at www.infosecawareness.in.
